KUALA LUMPUR: The Global Transformation Forum (GTF) 2017 will see around 3,000 participants attending the event to be held on 22-23 March 2017 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.

Apart from iconic international speakers, the forum, now in its second instalment, has a line up of local speakers including Anthony Tan, co-founder and Group CEO of e-hailing service Grab; YB Brigadier General Khairy Jamaluddin Abu Bakar, Minister for Youth and Sports; Deborah Henry, cofounder of the Fugee School and Patrick Grove, co-founder and CEO of Catcha Group.

“The theme for GTF 2017 is ‘Driving Transformation.’ Strategies and blueprints only make up one part of the recipe to effect transformation. To successfully ‘drive transformation’, we need a clear roadmap, unwavering focus, leadership, the ability to stand strong in the face of adversity as well as the tenacity to follow through.

“From sportsmen to entrepreneurs, these outstanding men and women who will take the stage at GTF 2017 all started their careers by striving to achieve what many thought was impossible,” said Dato’ Sri Idris Jala, President and CEO of PEMANDU Associates Sdn Bhd, which is organising the forum in strategic partnership with the World Bank Group Malaysia Global Knowledge and Research Hub.

As host of GTF2017, the Prime Minister YAB Dato’ Sri Najib Tun Abdul Razak will be delivering the welcome and keynote address.

Notable speakers at this year’s event include Jack Ma, Founder and Executive Chairman of Alibaba Group; Chris Gardner, entrepreneur, author and philanthropist; David Coulthard, former Formula 1 driver; Jamila Abass, CEO and co-founder of M-Farm, a mobile application connecting famers in Kenya directly to buyers; Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Abdul Wahid bin Omar, Group Chairman of Permodalan Nasional Berhad; Olympic sprinter Usain Bolt; Sir Richard Branson, founder of Virgin Group; H.E. Hussain Nasser Lootah, Director General of Dubai Municipality, United Arab Emirates; Dr Paul Romer, Chief Economist and Senior Vice President at the World Bank; Tan Sri Dato’ Azman bin Haji Mokhtar, Managing Director of Khazanah Nasional Berhad and Victoria Treadell, the British High Commissioner to Malaysia.
