YB Datuk Seri Abdul Rahman Dahlan
YB Datuk Seri Abdul Rahman Dahlan was first elected as a Member of Parliament for Kota Belud, Sabah in 2008. After his re-election in 2013, he was first appointed to the Federal Cabinet as the Minister of Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government. During the most recent cabinet reshuffle in June 2016, he was reappointed to the Federal Cabinet as a Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, in charge of the Economic Planning Unit. Along with his ministerial post, he is a Supreme Council Member of UMNO, the Secretary of Sabah Barisan Nasional and the Strategic Communications Director of Barisan Nasional.
YB Datuk Seri Abdul Rahman has also been on the board of directors of Padiberas Nasional (BERNAS), a government-linked company in the rice industry and Jinora Corporation, an oil and gas company. In addition, he was also the chairman of Viztel Solution and Yayasan Sabah Shipping.
YB Datuk Seri Abdul Rahman once served as Chief Secretariat for Peace Malaysia, a non-governmental organisation promoting peace in Malaysia and internationally. He has also organised multiple campaigns during his tenure, including an aid mission for the victims of the 2004 Aceh Tsunami, ‘Save Palestine’ as well as ‘End Israeli Violence’ campaigns.
